Description:
A genuine early Australian amber poison bottle featuring bold embossed POISON lettering and full ribbed warning panels. This compact, squat-bodied form was commonly used by chemists in the early 20th century for dispensing toxic preparations, liniments, iodine solutions, and other hazardous compounds.
The base bears an early, lightly struck AGM mark (Australian Glass Manufacturers Co.), consistent with production between c.1910–1920, before the adoption of later standardised logos. The amber glass colour, tactile ribbing, and rounded shoulder profile are all characteristic of poison packaging intended to be recognisable even in low light.
A true early Australian chemist bottle with excellent display presence and collector appeal.
