Description:
A striking vintage mixed-material character pipe featuring a carved demon/ogre face forming the bowl. The design includes exaggerated features such as raised brows, wide eyes, carved teeth and a protruding red tongue, giving it a dramatic folk-art presence.
The mid-section of the stem is built from stacked acrylic/resin bands in cream, amber, green and clear tones, while the upper stem is a twisted resin form, typical of mid-20th-century novelty export pipes.Produced between the 1950s–1970s, these figural pipes were made across Central Europe and Asia as souvenir pieces and decorative curios. This example has strong visual impact and displays as an expressive, slightly macabre character carving.
