Antique Wall Sculpture – Pair of 19th Century French Carved Wood Devil Heads

I am pleased to offer this beautiful and highly detailed pair of antique hand-carved wooden devil heads. A striking and characterful addition to any collection of European woodcarving, Gothic décor, or curiosities.

Product Description

A finely executed pair of 19th-century French wooden sculptures depicting devil or grotesque heads. Each piece showcases excellent craftsmanship typical of the Napoleon III period, with expressive faces, textured hair, and subtle asymmetry that gives them life and personality.

Originally produced as decorative architectural or furniture elements, these carvings have been carefully preserved and now make wonderful wall-mounted sculptures or display pieces. Their deep carving, warm patina, and mischievous expression embody the Gothic revival artistry of late-19th-century France.

Condition

Good overall antique condition, showing gentle age-related wear and a natural aged patina. A minor chip can be seen on the beard of one head (refer to photos). No major cracks or structural issues. Solid and stable throughout.
