Vintage Italian Carved Onyx Bird Figurine – Egyptian Revival Style

• Material: Solid carved onyx (translucent stone)

• Period: Mid–late 20th century

• Style: Egyptian Revival / stylised decorative sculpture

Description: A vintage Italian carved onyx bird figurine executed in a stylised Egyptian Revival form. The sculpture features a tall, upright stance with a simplified avian silhouette, incised linear detailing to the face, chest, and wings, and an integrated rectangular base. The stone displays a soft milky translucency with subtle tonal variation, consistent with Italian onyx carving traditions.

Pieces of this type were commonly produced in Italy during the mid to late 20th century for the decorative arts and interior décor market, drawing inspiration from ancient Egyptian motifs interpreted through modernist and revivalist design language. This example is well-proportioned, crisply carved, and visually striking as a standalone display object.
