This page explains what we collect when you use this website, why we collect it and who sees it. The short version: only what we need to answer you, send your order and run the shop. We never sell your details.

Who we are

What we collect

When you buy: your name, mobile, email, delivery address, anything you write in the note, and what you bought. Card details go straight to Square, our payment provider. We never see or keep your card number.
When you send us a message: your name, your email or mobile, and your message.
When you join First dibs: your email or mobile, the page you joined from and the time, so we have a record that you asked to hear from us.
When you browse: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity record how the site is used, such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, the kind of device and a rough location. Both use cookies. Your cart is kept in your own browser, not on our server.

Why we use it

To take payment, pack and send your order, and help if something goes wrong.
To answer your questions.
To tell First dibs members about new pieces before everyone else.
To see what works on the site and fix what doesn’t.
To keep the records tax law asks for.

Who sees it

Aaron and the Silver Tongue team.
Square, to take card payments, and Afterpay if you choose it.
Australia Post or our courier, to deliver your order.
5 Star Tradie, who build and look after this website and receive a copy of website messages so nothing gets missed.
Hostinger, who host the website.
Google and Microsoft, for the site statistics above.

Some of these companies store data outside Australia. We don’t sell or rent your details, and we don’t share them for anyone else’s marketing.

Messages from us

We only send news about new pieces to people who joined First dibs. Want off the list? Reply to any message from us, or text Aaron, and we’ll take you off.

How long we keep it

Order records for as long as tax law requires, usually five years. Messages and the First dibs list until you ask us to remove you, or until we no longer need them.

Your choices

Ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you. Text or email Aaron.
Block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
Opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt out add on.

Complaints

Talk to Aaron first and he’ll sort it. If you’re still not happy, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
