About this piece
Large Hand-Carved Wooden Eagle & American Flag Wall Plaque, Vintage Americana
A large hand-carved wooden wall plaque depicting a bald eagle clutching a stylised American flag, rendered in deep relief with exceptional feather and anatomical detail. The eagle is shown in mid-motion, wings extended and talons gripping a flagpole, creating a dramatic vertical composition with strong visual impact.
The piece is carved from solid wood and finished with warm brown tones and gold-painted highlights to accentuate the feathers, wings, and flag details. The reverse shows clean carving work and depth consistent with hand-carved decorative wall art rather than cast or moulded production.
Works of this type were commonly produced as high-quality decorative folk or Americana wall art during the mid-to-late 20th century, valued for their craftsmanship, scale, and bold patriotic imagery. Due to its size, weight, and level of detail, this example presents as a statement wall piece suitable for display in homes, offices, or themed interiors.
